Mock Interview for Channel 4
Mock Interview for Channel 4
While getting ready to do the interview, I have researched some tips that have a positive and well-brought impact on my overall success in employment.
1) research into the company
I have done that but a very little of it because I wasn't too sure of what position in media will I have to be focusing on but never mind that. Researching into a company like a channel 4 is hard strictly due to the fact of how mainstream and outgoing in ideas the company is, usually when joining such environments the successful candidate will be expected to create ideas and well-presented strategies to these ideas. They'll be expected to have good knowledge and experience within the media field from all categories meaning editing, production, cinematography etc. Eventually, there will be creative roadblocks and I think that's where teamwork and communication will out thrive such issues, furthermore if you have experience of being a leader or a confidant talker it'll become second nature as you have to always have a voice and include your self in other ideas.
2) double check your Circular Value
While double checking my CV I was thinking would it be better to create a dedicated CV for that media position, in media, it'll be great to have your own CV for the skills and experience developed over the years. Therefore I decided to create my own including my skill set, the software I'm familiar with and experience; the best way to present experience is to show your digital portfolio because it'll have your previous and upcoming projects and it'll create an image into the interviewer before you got to meet them.
Choose some random company and base your research on how you may prepare for an interview with them.
The company I choose was GRM Daily, a Music company presenting all UK music to mainstream platforms.
I've prepared research into that company, prepared some commonly asked questions and made a few questions for the interviewer at the end to show I was involved in the company. I would also bring a copy of my most recently updated CV and get a good morning routine to not be nervous and make uncommon mistakes.
I have gotten ready achievements and experience within the categories of my employment-ready e.g work from college, networking with individuals, projects outside of college within media and many more.
I have been told to also think and answer with a (Star) method to give a clear response and to show my individual contribution to projects. Furthermore to show development in the area required for this job and focus my main objective on that company main role (Music, Production, Videography)
This is my interview for a position in media within Channel 4. Straight from the go, I was very nervous as I didn't do enough research for Channel 4 and the position I'll be going into. The interviewer was very helpful and friendly, she make me feel comfortable and I think it improved a lot of my answers. Throughout the interview, I was trying also not to give too much eye contact making the situation more relaxed and free flow so everything goes smoothly. While listing some of my weaknesses I tried to make them into a positive too much like saying I recently have created a bad habit of being late but slowly it's improving and going back to place.
