Bulding My CV
Building a CV
Right here you'll see my research towards CVs and then my fully completed cv's categorised for different job roles for example the first one is towards Media based jobs and the second one is more towards Customer service-related applications. They both will be very similar apart from my statement resembling my career choices and the jobs ill be looking forward to be working in. I'll be using my CVs strictly for the job role ill be applying for, they both have been used in the past and have gathered many successful opportunities for me. The customer assistant job is my current use for jobs relative to the application furthermore also using my media related to the placement.
I've observed that in lots of these occasions relevant to both job types, such as skills section and previous work experience within that role are also a very common question for each job there will be something like e.g. technological competence and ability to work in a team etc. Furthermore, bases such as experience sections from work don't frequently change but I may be able to change that after completing this academic year with the addition of placement and more professional practice for my employer's knowledge of work I've been involved with.
I think that the cv I've created is well projectile and its foundation can be spread through two pages down the road after more experience but for now just one page is enough to be. I also think this can make it more professional looking by being easy to navigate through the topics.
Research-based on what makes a good cv
By researching what makes a good CV, I've come across this interesting article by the Guardian which I believed made very good tips. I have benefited from some of these bits of advice given such as being "a clear cv" suggesting trying to limit how many pages a cv should be. After that, I've converted my cv into the updated version which is shorter tighter and has updated information onto it too. This made my applications much simpler to read and the main benefit is all my information was able to fit onto one page.
I was resistant to finding some good examples of a cv. One thing noticeable particular is that involving colour in the cv makes a difference and makes it more attractive rather than being just a black and white page, in my previous cv I used colours too to categories and create areas for each dedicated information such as personal profile, education etc similar to the example provided underneath. Nevertheless, I understand that there shouldn't be coloured background, irrelevant icons etc on formal documentation such as this, I will continue to use some of the colours on my own to make it stand out more. Furthermore, in good examples, there is a clear order to the CV- for example, every section has a heading and relevant dates (employment dates) in bold.
